Air New Zealand's has a long history , the story began in April 1940 when its forerunner airline,Teal[Tasman Empire Airways Limited] was started and later on In April 1965 TEAL was renamed Air New Zealand Limited and continued operating solely international services. and Now it is a major scheduled passenger airline which is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Air New Zealand is an international and domestic airline group which provides air passenger and cargo transport services within New Zealand, as well as to and from Australia, the South West Pacific, Asia, North America and the United Kingdom. It also encompasses business units providing engineering and ground handling services and its Subsidiaries extend to booking systems, travel wholesaling and retailing services.

Fleet Of Air New Zealand.

The current Air New Zealand (including Freedom Air) fleet consists of the following aircraft (at March 2006):

    • 14 Airbus A320-232 (hold options for 20)
    • 14 Boeing 737-300
    • 8 Boeing 747-400
    • 7 Boeing 767-319ER (two being phased out over the next two years)
    • 4 Boeing 777-219ER

On order:

    • 4 Boeing 777-219ER
    • 4 Boeing 787-819 (plus 14 options)
    • 13 Bombardier Q300 (for subsidiary Air Nelson)

the ANZ airlines is great they have a long haul airline, the best. and their first priority is the safety and security of their passengers. Their flight attendants are very patient pleasant, and very professional. Last time it happend so that I was very ill on a flight and the crew exactly knew what they were doing, and I was cared for extemely well up until we landed in London. I was very grateful for that, so ANZ has my loyalty and thanks for that alone.

As a frequent traveller, I have flown with many of the worlds major airlines and my experience with Air New Zealand is the best which I can recall. I was greeted at the main cabin door, by the friendly cabin supervisor and was served free drinks during the flight, and the meal sizes in business class were excellent. However there were a few things that were not pleasant. during the pre flight safety demo, one of the flight attendants tripped and broke her nose, and had to be escorted from the aircraft. Then, the cabin crew experienced difficulty arming one of the aircrafts emergency escape doors during the flight there was an unpleasant smell, emanating from the rear of the aircraft. But over all my experience was very nice ...will recommend this to all
