Airlines Tickets
An Airline ticket is an Important Document Used in travelling . It refers to a document created by an airline or a travel agent to confirm that an individual has purchased a seat on an airplane and in order to obtain the boarding Pass this document is used. Then with the boarding pass and the attached ticket the passenger is allowed to board the aircraft. Generally a ticket is made up of one or more flight coupons and these flight coupons are the actual Airlines tickets that are used for travel and these One flight coupon is used for each leg of the flight.
Paper tickets :
A paper ticket is used only on the airline for which it was purchased but their is a possibility that an airline can endorse the ticket so that it may be accepted by other airlines, sometimes on stand by basis or with a confirmed seat. Usually the paper ticket is for a specific flight It is also possible to purchase an 'open' ticket which allows travel on any flight between the destinations listed on the ticket. The cost for doing this is greater than a ticket for a specific flight.Their are some rules for refundable for paper tickets some tickets are refundable but the lower cost tickets are usually not refundable and may carry many additional restrictions.
E- ticket :
Elctronic tickets or E-ticket was first introduced in 1990.These tickets are usually for an airline flight, but sometimes used for entertainment venues, exist only in digital form. Customers usually print out a copy of their receipt which contains the record locator or reservation number which is in fact the E-ticket.
E-tickets are a cheaper & efficient method for airlines to deal with tickets. It eliminates the manual tasks required to process and account for paper airline tickets. Apart from processing costs, e-ticket also save cost for airlines in terms of the cost of paper ticket jacket, thereby, reducing the overall distribution cost for an Airline Ticket. For the traveler, it eliminates the problems and costs that travelers experienced when they lost a paper ticket.
